COMMISSIONS
Do you need some music? Dr. Brownlow is currently accepting commissions for nearly every genre, event or occasion. Consider whether or not any of the following circumstances may apply to you:
» You are a performer and would like a new composition written specifically for your instrument and you would like a composition written for you that played to your strengths and tastes as a musician.
» You are looking for a composition for an unusual combination of instruments that is difficult to find in existing literature.
» You are getting married and would like some original music composed just for your special day. You might want a special fanfare and/or a processional specifically dedicated to you. Samples of such compositions can be played on the player at the bottom-left.
» You need some original music for a short film or video.
» You are a conductor needing some literature for your ensemble.
» You have a special melody that you would like to be the basis of a new composition.
These are just some of the reasons why you might consider contacting Dr. Brownlow to discuss the possibility of a new piece for yourself, your occasion or event.

1. Length of the composition
2. Size of the ensemble
E-COMPOSITION LESSONS
E-Composition lessons. There is no substitute for face-to-face meetings with a good teacher. However, many people would like to get some help or feedback on their compositions but for a variety it may not be convenient to meet with a teacher in person. Perhaps you live far from a composition teacher, or you like the idea of being able to stay in your home. Whatever your reason is, Dr. Brownlow can offer a viable solution, E-Lessons.
Online teaching is becoming quite common in higher education. There are several prominent online Universities, and most institutions offer at least some of their courses online. This being the case, there is no reason why private composition instruction can't be done in a similar fashion. There are a couple of ways to remote teach:
1. Use a program like SKYPE or Yahoo messenger to live chat/video conference. Teacher and student simply need to agree on a day and time just like with an in-person teacher. The student would have to send the composition file. The program that Dr. Brownlow uses is Finale. But most any notation program is fine as long as the file can be sent electronically and readable. It could also be in PDF, TIFF or other format that can be sent as an attachment. Teacher and student could then interact easily. With or without a webcam teacher and student could still speak live while discussing the music.
2. If you have no access to a computer or if you'd rather just send your score and forego live interaction, you could email the file(s) and Dr. Brownlow will return it with comments within a predetermined timeframe- probably within 24-48 hours
3. Dr. Brownlow's team is working on a full online course management and will be ready soon for easier access of lessons that he offers.
